Bearden’s SGA will host a brand new event for students to participate in and help support a charitable cause, all while having fun.

In light of the cancellation of Spirit Night this fall, SGA has worked to plan and host a Big Ball Soccer event open to all Bearden Students. Principal Dr. John Bartlett proposed the idea to SGA back in the fall.

Big Ball Soccer will include tournament style games of soccer, with a twist being the soccer ball that will be used is several feet tall. There is an entry fee of $10 per 10-student team. Anyone and everyone is welcome and encouraged to sign up. Forms can be picked up outside and turned into Room 404.

Music, pizza, and other activities will also be provided at the event which will take place from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. at Bearden’s soccer fields on Thursday. All proceeds from the event will be donated to Wilderwood, an organization which trains and provides service dogs to those who need them, but may not be able to afford them.

“I think all students should sign up and look really forward to having a lot of fun with their friends, while also supporting a good cause,” senior and SGA member Olivia Campbell said.

Students who do not want to play are also encouraged to come out and watch their fellow peers play and have a great time as well.
