The Lady Soccer Dogs have had an impressive defensive start to the season, only allowing seven goals in the first 13 games so far.

What makes that stat even more impressive is that nearly half of those conceded goals came last weekend against defending state champion Houston – and when Bearden had played each of the two previous days, whereas Houston was coming off two days of rest.

“We as defenders can count on the offense to always score goals,” senior center back Carley Scott said. “So it’s nice when the team can count on us not to get scored on.”
