Dawgathon is hosting “Screen on the Green” on Friday with a requested $5 donation.

Dawgathon is hosting the first ever “Screen on the Green” event this Friday at 7 p.m. on the Bearden football field.

The movie will be Minions: The Rise of Gru.

The event is open to the community, and people of all ages are welcome to attend. A $5 donation is not required, but recommended at the door.

“Screen on the Green” will be just one of the many events that president Meghan Oros and the club hope to put on this year. All of Dawgathon’s events raise money for East Tennessee Children’s Hospital.

Oros hopes this will be a good opportunity for the Bearden and Knoxville communities to come together for a good cause.

“It’s our first big event of the year, so we’re trying to just get our name out to the community,” she said.
