Bearden’s 2025 prom theme is “Meet Me at Midnight,” based on the fairy tale Cinderella.
The Prom Committee is approaching how they incorporate elements of a Disney classic in a different way compared to past proms.
“We try to just add little touches here and there, and for some of them, you’re going to have to look to find them,” Prom Committee sponsor Mrs. Anna Graham said. “We’re not building a ton of sets this year.”
The Prom Committee has worked hard to make the decor have a classical feel without it looking like a basic fairytale-princess theme.
“One thing that is going to be different about this prom is the classical feel,” senior Prom Committee member Claire Henry said. “We’re using a couple tones of blue and silver because we want to keep it very simplistic and classic.”
Added Mrs. Graham: “We try to make it have a certain overall feel to it. We’ll use color palettes, and we just try to use a little bit of the movie elements. We might have a clock, or we might have a glass slipper, but you’re not going to see tons of Cinderella-type things.”
Not only is the prom theme going to be different, but so is the usage of space at The Mill & Mine. The Prom Committee is focused on using the outside and inside area equally.
“We’re doing this so that we can put more movie scenes outside and to utilize space because it can get really crowded when everyone’s just inside,” Henry said. “If we put as much focus on the outside as we do the inside, it will help equally spread people out.”
Prom is on May 3. Tickets are $45.
