Senior Ally Hardesty will join Bearden alum John Paul Gaylor next year at the University of North Carolina, as she committed to swim for the Tar Heels on Tuesday. Hardesty took a recruiting trip to UNC at the beginning of October and was impressed by the school’s beauty as well as the university’s swim program. âEverything about it was just a good fit for me,â Hardesty said. Hardesty hopes to continue to better her times and to be able to qualify and compete at the NCAA championships. Hardesty has gained plenty of experiences through swimming for Bearden and for club teams as well that will carry on over into her college career. âI have definitely learned a lot through swimming with Bearden and for my club team,â Hardesty said. âLike how to swim with the team, and the friends you make are youâre friends for life.â Hardestyâs official signing date is unknown, but she could sign as early as Nov. 9.
